The funny part is that I'm really
not a
huge fan. I was a big fan when I was a kid during the Barkeley stretch (I know, he's kindof an idiot, and the media often painted him a jerk, but he really cared about the fans. Good friends of mine met him once at a hotel, away from all the cameras etc, and he chatted with them, signed a whole mess of things for their kids, and held their baby girl for pictures. Greatest guy, they said). Annnyway, plus, Ainge was on the team at the time, yeah, I'm that big a Y homer...
As for today's team, no real connection to them, but maybe it's just that I'm such an underdog-type guy. I know, how could a team with Nash, Stoudemire, O'Neal, et al. be such an underdog, but they're the perennial can't-quite-get-over-the-hump team, SO tantalizingly close every year, yet so far when the final buzzer sounds. Almost reminds me of my poor besmitten HEADCASE of a Cougar Basketball team!!!

, just follow me on this one though...) The end of regulation my Dad and I were SCREAMING at the TV to go for two. You've proven that you can run with the best, but face it, they've got Big 12 bodies and you're walk-on farm boys. DO NOT attempt to beat them at the IDIOTIC GOALLINE-STAND GAME they call College Football overtime. And we were proven right when ONE PLAY took Oklahoma into the endzone, and it took TWO fourth downs (iirc), and every trick-play in the book (except one 
) just to get Boise their touchdown, and they were very fortunate even to get it. LUCKILY, Pederson (or whatever his name is), learned from his mistake the first time and went for it all.
