Jake Locker doesn't have a good arm? How in the world can you come to that conclusion? He has a freakin cannon for an arm!

Watch this video clip and tell me how the heck you conclude he does not have a good arm:

Locker only completed 47.3% of his passes and threw more picks than TD's. If that's what you consider a great arm I don't know what to say.

I'll take Hall over Locker every time.

If you make direct comparisons to Hall and Locker you are comparing apples to oranges. Locker has 1 year of college football experience! 1! Hall has 3, that's a huge difference! Having a redshirt year as a qb is a big deal. Is Hall a better qb right now. Sure. Will he ultimately be the better qb at the end of both of their careers? Who knows? If locker can improve his completion percentage and willingham can get the huskies to win some games he might win a heisman.

I guess Hall has three years experience, kinda, sorta. How many years had it been since Hall had played in an actual game, much less a D1 game? I get what you're saying Hengst, Locker may turn out to be good (may), but since the only thing that matters right now is how they compare right now, I'll take Hall, who IS good NOW over Locker, who MAY turn out to be good.

All I'm saying is it's kind of a silly comparison at this point. It's like comparing a 5 year starter to a rookie in the NFL. BYU is going to win in september, that's all that really matters . No need to beet up on a young qb. BYU definitely has the better O and D at this point. The only thing Washington has going for it in this game is that they're playing in seattle.

The only thing that worries me is that Washington did play a few games pretty tough up there last year. They beat boise state, and gave USC all they could handle. Could be an interesting game, but BYU should win by at least 1 TD.

I think Locker's scrambling ability should probably be our biggest concern. Not saying they will be able to be successful - but we don't do so well when the quarterback decides to run...

That said I have total confidence in the team, as long as we are able to prepare for the above.

I think the Cougs will do just fine since Locker will likely be deciding to run when he sees Jorgensen in his face....and by that time it will be too late.
