I'll never count out the Spurs or the Pistons this year...but there are chinks in that armor now.

I don't think it's as much this year as the next few where the Lakers and Celtics should make hay.

With a healthy Andrew Bynum, Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom, and Kobe Bryant (throw in excellent role players like radmonivic, farmar, walton, etc.) and you have one of the youngest teams in the league with arguably the most talent.

If you look at the young talent of the Portland Trailblazers though, I don't expect Kobes reign to be that long. Portland will be scary good sooner rather than later.

I agree...The Trailblazers are very close to being ridiculously good! Get a healthy Greg Oden some experience...Then with the likes of Brandon Roy, Martell Webster, LaMarcus Aldridge, Channing Frye, A decent big man with Przybilla...Not too mention all of their other young players. I personally believe they need an upgrade at the point guard position though, Jarrett Jack will always be a run of the mill PG. Ya know whats scary with them...They are in the Lottery again, If they manage to get a top 3...They would probably get Derrick Rose whom I see as being an athletic beast!

That team with a little more experience, seasoning, and the addition of a few vets will be scary. And I consider Nate McMillan to be a smart coach that is about to have a very dangerous squad.

I love the Jazz, but we need a dominant low post defender and SOON to counter Greg Oden in the low post. I think that the Western Conference top 4 for years too come will be Utah Jazz, Portland Trailblazers, Los Angeles Lakers (Kobe, Pau, Odom, and Bynum are all 30 and under), and the New Orleans Hornets...I See some epic battles in the making! Its a great time to be an NBA Fan.

I think you are right in that the Blazers need to get a good PG if they can find one. Jarret Jack and Steve Blake are serviceable but they could do better. Travis Outlaw really matured quite a bit this year for them also. I think the best news they got this year is that Darius Miles' knee injury is career ending. I only live 40 miles from Portland so I am excited to finally see all of the Jail Blazers leave and get some good quality people in Portland, at least for NBA standards.
