The man does live in Texas, it's not like he's close. I know he usually comes to a game or two every year, but he's got a gym to run in dallas so it's not like he can be up here all the time
Thanks Hengst. I did know he lived in Texas and you have a good point that I am sure he is busy. Doesn't he have a huge ranch too where he hunts? I wonder if he and Beck every get together.
I know he came and spoke with the team a few years back. I believe he and Steve Young came during fall camp and gave a pep talk. I think Detmer still has some strong ties to BYU...but yes, he does live in Texas.
in an interview with ksl just last summer he actually went pheasant hunting with Robbie Bosco and Brandon Doman-Ty said that he's not yet ready to "start" coaching, but hinted that there was some possibility to that once he's moved on the ranching/hunting spree-i think he's going to be around, he and his family are down to earth and good people, expect to see him around
I think that if I were able to taste wealthy "retirement" for a couple years you would never get me back in an office of any kind ever again. Sadly, I don't think we'll see Ty coaching at BYU.
