So Bronco wants this young man to not honor his commitment to UNLV? Seems to be pretty hypocritical since he seems to remind his recruits that they need to be honest and keep their commitments to him. I also find it interesting that he offers right after it has been 18 months since he committed to UNVL (keeping in line with the recruiting rules).
Keep in mind ... I don't care that he offered. Bronco is doing what every Head Coach at every other school does. The reason it bothers me is because of what Bronco preaches. It just seems like he's expecting people to do as he says, not what he does. If you expect players to keep their commitment, then you shouldn't try to egg players into breaking them.
I know ... I'm a stupid "yewt" and all that crap.
After 18 months, a player is not bound to any one school. So in that sense there is no more commitment. You might say, "well UNLV kept a scholarship open or made plans for the kid, so to leave now is not nice," to which I say, if a player, 18 months away from the game and the school, with greater insight and whatever thinks a different scene or school better fits his goals etc, all power to him....BYU has often released kids who thought they could do better elsewhere....I was bummed when Olson left, but I at least felt he should go where he wants because in the end if you are not where you want no one benefits from that....In short, your question did not come across to me as coming from a "stupid 'yewt,'" but from a whinny one....
