Don't forget that Beck turns 27 before the season starts and Henne turns 23. To put that in perspective, Beck is as old as Eli Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Phillip Rivers, Jason Campbell, and Matt Schuab. Those are the successful QBs in that age group. Then there are the less effective ones like Luke McCown, Chris Simms, Jim Sorgi, Ken Dorsey, Kyle Boller, Rex Grossman, Brock Berlin, Casey Bramlet, Seneca Wallace, Jared Lorenzen, J.P. Losman and Gibran Hamdan. Beck hasn't had a chance to prove himself, but I doubt he gets as long as a 22 year old rookie. Since Beck has yet to prove that he is Eli, Big Ben, Rivers or Campbell, it doesn't surprise me that they would bring in a plan B. Besides Miami picked a Tackle #1 which will help him out a bunch. If I were Eli and the Giants used their second pick on a QB I would be upset, but Beck hasn't proven himself and you can't blame them for bringing in a QB 4 years younger just in case. Plus they didn't want to have Beck starting his first year, and even if they see Henne as their future QB I doubt they want him starting before next year. If Beck can show significant improvement this year and if the team starts turning around, I doubt he loses the starting job.
