Hasn't Kidd been accused of running a previous or other previous coaches out of town? I am not saying he did now, but it looks mighty suspicious that Johnson has such a great record, doesn't want to trade for Kidd and now he is GONZO....

The Mavs have now fired their head coach who amassed a win percentage of .735ish---the guy who openly opposed the geriatrics movement that brought Jason Kidd to town and ended the Mavericks tenure as a contender.

Here's to rebuilding!

Kidd was a member of the "Three J's" in Dallas along with Jim Jackson and Jamal Mashburn.

Kidd had issues with Jimmy Jackson 10 years ago or so in Dallas. Coaching and GM problems followed.

There was a time when Kidd was easily the best guard in the NBA and incredibly underappreciated- it's just not now.

Imagine how Kobe must be feeling, the two trades he wanted (Kidd and then the Chicago Bulls fiasco) didn't go through (and may have sunk the Lakers too) and the one that fell in their laps to get Gasol has worked miraculously. I guess it's better to be lucky than good.

(Robert Horry silently nods in agreement)
