And to think my Mavs traded away their future to keep up with the Suns. Well, at least the trade worked if all they were looking to do was keep pace with Phoenix.

After seeing Chris Paul flat out embarrass Jason Kidd in that series I have to think that they would have been better off with Devin Harris. Harris is much quicker than Kidd and a much better defender. Kidd was definitely a player in his day, but talk about passing the torch, wow.

Jason Kidd has always been overrated. You don't move to as many different teams as he has without being overrated (obvious exception is Shaq, but we can see that he's lost a few steps).

The best point guards in the NBA (in no particular order) are Deron Williams, Chris Paul, and Tony Parker. If I had to pick one right now, it would probably be Tony Parker, but the other two will catch him sooner or later.

Always overrated?? I guess you can have that oppinion. I would say that having the third most triple doubles on the NBA all time list behind only Oscar Robertson and Magic Johnson is evidence of a pretty good player. That stat alone might get him into the Hall of Fame.

Now I would agree that for the past few years he has been overrated. But always overrated? I think that is a stretch.

Is it me, or has the quality of officiating in the playoffs just been horrendous. As a Jazz fan, I'm only going to point out the two basket interference calls over the last two games because I may be too biased in that series to do it justice. My biggest concern is not that the refs are making mistakes on hard calls, its that they are making them on simple calls, like out of bounds and basket interference.

In the Spurs-Suns game last night, it was either on back to back trips, or two trips out of three, where Spurs players TRIPPED THEMSELVES, and were awarded with foul calls. In the one with Duncan you can see the official that made the call in one of the replays, and he wasn't even looking at the play. He was looking off ball, and just made the call when Duncan fell down. Terrible, just terrible.

Any game that Steve Javie officiates for the Jazz will be poorly called, so I kind of throw those ones out because its obviously a personal thing between him and Jerry Sloan. On the other hand, Bevetta, who blew several calls against the Jazz in the Finals 10 years ago, does seem to want to make amends and does show a little favortism towards the team he stole a game or two from.

After every game, I'm sure that I'll never again be surprised at the suckiness of the refs, but every game they seem intent on proving me wrong.

I have to say that suns game was the worse officiating I have ever seen. I do hate the spurs but I am not a suns fan. Every call was going for the spurs it was knuckleheaded terrible.

The suns trade was one of the worst blunders I have ever seen in professional sports. Shawn Marion was the best player on their team in my opinion. Shaq is a has been and does not really care about winning another championship by his own effort.

I laughed at the Dallas and Phoenix trades but I am not laughing about the Lakers trade that will do the Jazz in next round.

As soon as they announced who the officials were last night, and heard Steve Javie's name on the crew, I knew the Jazz would automatically be playing 5 on 6...
