I know, it's usually a love it or hate it thing but I'm curious what ya'll think about American Idol. Due to the representation of two members of the Church and the fact that my wife has become "hooked" I am growing increasingly interested week by week.

Just a couple thoughts:
1) Simon is the only honest judge. He just lacks tact. Paula is a bunch of fluff that doesn't want to offend. And Randy just likes to "check it out" and comment on "pitchiness"

2) If the american voting is based on the entire season and not on a week to week basis, then they got it right last night. If they are based solely on Tuesday's performances then they messed up badly! Jason should have been OUT and Brooke should have been right behind, although she recovered well and finished strong.

So what do you all think?

Sorry, I've never seen the show and had no idea that two Mormons were on it. So to answer your question, I'm not a fan.

I'll admit, I love.... LOVE idol. It really is very addicting. I've been watching since season 2. As for this season....

David Cook is the man!

I'm glad carly went home last night, I really wasn't a big fan of her voice. I'm suprised she got as far as she did.

I like Jason, like Randy said (and I've been saying since week 2) he reminds me a ton of Jack Johnson.

David A. has a really good voice, but its the same thing every week. I wouldn't buy his CD.

Brooke 1. is gorgeous. 2. she's LDS. whats not to love? lol, I like her voice. and i'm sick of people giving her crap about starting over again 2 nights ago, really not that big of a deal.

Syesha, I think she has a really good voice, but I've never really been a fan until this week. Simon was right, that performance was sexy.

My wife is also a huge fan, so I watch along with her. Let me say that there is some pretty good talent this year, but there were two real anomalies, Castro and Carly never should have made it through the first round, when Carly finally got booted last night I admit I gave the fist pump. Now there's only one bad woman left on the show, Jason Castro.

My wife and I have watched it off and on by season. This season we have watched it every week since auditions were over. I too am the biggest fan of David Cook. I think he is the most talented musician on the show right now. I like Brooke White but I also find her a little annoying. David Archuleta has an amazing voice. My prediction is that it will come down to the Davids for the final two. Although I think David Cook is more deserving, for the finale they have to sing the sappy, inspirational ballad written by a fan and that is right down David Archuleta's alley. Much like last year with how Blake Lewis (amazing beat boxer and mixer) lost to Jordin Sparks in the finale because his hands were tied and he couldn't do what he did best.
