When I saw the title of the thread I thought it was going to be a spin off of the redneck jokes. Like, "You know it's the offseason when there's a 6 page thread on American Idol."

I did think it had that kind of potential when I started it, but no one really seemed to jump on it...

But in that spirit, you know it's the offseason when reading the speculation on which BcS conference BYU will get into takes so long you have to shave at least twice before you're done.

...when you're more concerned over which package DirecTV will put the MTN on than whether the MWC bowl package includes the 4th or 5th place PAC-10 team.

...when you're so focused on the rising stars of the Cougs that you almost forget how awfully some former Cougs are doing (except that the constant reminders here prevent any actual forgetting).

How about when the NFL draft is the most exciting event in recent memory.

He puts BYU at 17, which feels about right, given my expectations for pre-season rankings. He also appears at least relatively informed and generally positive. Enjoy the "feast."
