A question about Utah County 2 Months ago Karma: 4
I'm moving to Utah County soon and was wondering how important is it to have a 4-wheel drive/AWD vehicle?

I see your still watching the thread so I'll just say that they are not needed at all. I have 4wd and the only time I use it is when I launch our boat at sandy beach.

AWD or 4WD is nice about 3 days out of the year when it snows bad.

If you can stand 3 sketchy days driving FWD in snow, then save the $ and go 2WD, but FWD.

I second what everyone else has said. Sure there are a couple days each winter when 4WD is nice to have, but in my opinion it's not worth the extra $. It's Utah County, not Minnesota.

Depends on where you live really. If you're living on the bench or on a pretty big hill 4WD will be very beneficial, if not then don't worry about it.

If you plan on winter recreation of any kind, opt for AWD or FWD.
