I hate to rain on the parade here but I, for one, will not call them names. I guess I'm somewhat a hypocrite because I don't mind it so much when others on this board do it but when I receive trash talk from my "friend" who wears red, and he calls Bronco or BYU names, it really bugs me. I refuse to stoop to the same level. Besides, I married the most wonderful woman in the world who happens to have been raised with a prominent Ute background. I also love her family (seriously.) and I am trying to help them see that not all BYU fans are that way.
Again, not trying to be preachy or self-righteous here...you all can call them what you want. But please don't censure me because I choose to simply call them Utes or Utah.
Go COugs!!!
I'm with you Ammoncougar1... I've spent years working in a very very Ute environment, and just getting blasted until the Bronco-Rose era began. I hated it so much I can't do it, mostly because they want me to. At the same time I love watching the utra-creative minds of posters on this site, so I don't condemn it either.
As for K-Whitt... it still hurts to see him as a Ute, he is our very own Benedict Arnold, such a great Cougar looking so lost in Red. Then again we did pull a quick one on the Utes with the acquisition of Jeff Judkins.. thats gotta hurt.
And reading from other posters I'm realizing I'm lucky that my wife is steep in Cougar and sports tradition too, it was hard enough to keep her from ditching church to watch the Jazz game.
