BCS or Bust??? 4 Months ago Karma: 0
I think that with all the pre-season hype and talk, this is what we have come down to. If BYU does not make a BCS game, I think we will all be a little disappointed. I for one will be. It definitely is no gimme by any means. So, here's the question, if BYU does not make a BCS game, will you be disappointed, and do you think they will make it?

Here's to hopin' they do!
BCS of BUST!!!

Ask me after the Washington game. IMO, that will be the truest gauge of the Cougars' abilities next year--winning on the road against a Pac-10 team at the start of the season. Don't get me wrong, the games at TCU and Utah will be very tough. But I think BYU still gets in the BCS if they lose one of those, because both teams are better than Washington.

BYU has to get the monkey off its back of losing to mediocre BSC conference teams on the road at the start of the season.

It depends on a lot of things. If someone important gets hurt early in the seasons I think I'll be happy with a lot less. If everyone stays healthy I don't see why they shouldn't win every game. TCU and Utah will be the toughest games on our schedule and I don't think either team will really be all that much different from what they were last year which means BYU should be able to beat them.

I totally agree with you. I know a lot of people out there think that Washington is not that good, but I guarantee that they already have the BYU game circled on their schedule. I think if they can win that game, they should be able to roll. I am quite concerned about the Utah game as well, but other than that, nobody really worries me, especially not UCLA!

Here's a little trivia, when is the last time BYU won an out of conference road game?

The answer, Utah State, where we barely won 35-34! Back in 2002. Before that was at Mississippi State in 2001, we won on a last second field goal.

I will be a LOT disappointed if they don't go BCS bowling next season. I think about the only way they don't is by injury to Hall. Every other position has depth so QB is the key to me. Lose him and BYU will be a long shot to go, keep him upright and they will most likely be playing in the Fiesta bowl (which would be an even bigger KUDOS to the team since it's the Orange Bowl's turn for the so called at-large team).

I don't think either the players or the fans have the BYU game circled, per se. At least that's the impression I get from their fan boards (I know, a limited perspective). This could be a trap game where they seem to disrespect us, and start with Oregon, and then play Oklahoma after us.

About the only thing they look forward to is avenging the losses in 1985 and 1999, and the supposed stealing of their NC in 1984...
