Actually, at this time last year BYU only had 4 commits for 2008. Whereas, BYU has 5 right now for 2009. So we are actually ahead of pace. The difference is that a few commits for 2009 committed WAY early, so it seems different because the news of people committing is more spread apart. However, although we are ahead of pace, I think that will change. First, because there are less scholarships to give out this year. Two, because the offers right now are to highly touted players that we have a pretty legit chance of getting. I don't think many of them are going to commit early with all of the attention they are getting from big schools. Therefore, the commits will come in slower from here on out. Hopefully, BYU holding out for the highley touted players doesn't dissuade other recruits that could have signed because they weren't offered as early or receive as much attention.
