A perfect is 34 I think. 23 isn't bad. It's above average which I think is 17-20.. As long as he makes the team, I could care less if he scored a 30 or a 23. It's all the same to me.
O'neill showed off how smart he was when he looked at, THEN signed at BYU over many big name programs. THATS SMART. Byu builds individuals for life. Not just football players...

I understood that Chambers needed a 21 on his math section, which he got. His overall score may have been higher.

That being said, I think 21 is more of a preferred cutoff, rather than a hard a fast one; I know at least two people whose composite score was lower than a 21.

That Chambers qualified through the front door is to be commended. I discussed this issue with someone who would know, and he insisted that Chambers could have enrolled "as is," but with some effort (my guess at translation would be "a letter of recommendation from Bronco".

Chambers is proving that he belongs in Provo at every turn.

18 is the NCAA cutoff I think. BYU uses a higher one, which I don't know what it is. 36 is the highest composite score. But I think there is an essay portion that some schools are beginning to use. 27 I think was the last avg that I heard entering students at BYU have.

Check that, NCAA uses a CGPA/ACT mix. The lower your HS CGPA, the higher you need to score on your ACT, with 18 still being the lowest.

A 21 on the ACT is scoring "big"? Since when?

Good question. I had to score a 34 on the ACT to get MY scholarship at BYU.
