Refs didn't play into this game. I didn't agree with the Fisher 3 foul at the end of the half, the blocking foul on Milsap, or the blocking foul on Williams, And I don't know if Harpring should have got a foul on the pure crap that Kobe was throwing up in the 4th (that one looked really phantom). At the same time, I'm sure Lakers didn't agree with other calls. That's the way Basketball goes. I feel like the Jazz beat themselves in this one. Don't come out flat, lazy, and expecting to win in an elimination game. That was pathetic play in the first half. I'm always going to wonder how much Memo's sore Achilles was affecting his defense in the second half against Gasol. Memo looked especially slow in that game. But I guess he never looks like lightning.
I've got to agree that getting rid of Boozer would be a good idea. I think Milsap is tougher inside as a defender and has a huge upside. I think he could become the Jazz's David West. I can't stand that Boozer never adjusted to the play of Gasol and Odom on both ends of the floor. Learn a new move that includes getting your defender in the air.
I'm way excited about the addition of Almond and Fesenko. AK and Fesenko should be fun to watch. One thing is certain now- Williams is the key to the team. Without him the Jazz are done. And if he doesn't get another solid go to player to take off some of the pressure, 2008 playoffs are going to be the norm for years to come. I'm afraid that boozer isn't the guy the Jazz need at the moment.
Maybe next year. Now that we've got that out of the way, Football can't come fast enough!!!!! GO COUGARS!!!
