AK is a better defender, shooter (close to 50% and 35% on 3's this last year), rebounder, passer, has a better basketball IQ, can handle the ball better (in the famous game where Fisher came back from New York and the Jazz were dealing with foul trouble with Williams and an injury to Dee Brown, AK was the point guard and he kept them in the game), works harder (aside from last year), is more versatile (look at what he did for Russia last summer) and is a better athlete. All this, and he is just 2 inches shorter than Trent, and weighs about the same.
Trent's body type and athletic ability would almost dictate that he would be a small forward in the NBA, not a power forward, but Trent doesn't have the shot to play the 3. He can't guard LeBron or Kobe with any success (Kirilenko at least makes them make amazing shots, which they are able to do). Trent will not be nearly as successful or valuable to any team as AK.
I think after this past year, Jazz fans have come to accept Andrei again.
