NBA: Lakers-Spurs POLL 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 11

Remember back when this board had the POLL QUESTION feature? Anyways...

1-Who do you WANT to win this series, Spurs or Lakers?
2-Who do you THINK will win the series, L.A. or San Antonio?
3-Bonus -- Call your shot: Boston Celtics or Detroit Pistons, and maybe even an NBA Champ prediction...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mine:
1-Spurs
2-San Antonio
3-Boston Celtics / Boston Celtics

1. I'm tired of the Spurs in the finals.(It's really boring basketball- in fact I may not watch if it's Detroit/San Anton in the finals) So I'll take the Lakers. I also don't think that Kobe gets the respect he deserves; after the Duke lacrosse fiasco.....(i.e. the girl(s) that called "wolf" - those women should do 20 years in jail for that stuff; it does a disservice to every woman that is truly assaulted, not to mention the disservice it does to the legal system and the accused).

2. I honestly thought that the Lakers played terrible at home last night. The Spurs really mismanaged the 4th quarter. However, I saw what every other viewer saw, San Antonio can win in LA. So I expect SA to win in 6 or 7 depending on when the Spurs get their road win.

3. I'll take Boston in a close one with 2 caveats - 1. if Ray Allen doesn't have a single game of 20 points +, I give it to Detroit 2. if Chauncey Billups is hurt more than they say, I give the edge to Boston

I really hope for (and I'll bet a million dollars that David Stern does too) for Lakers vs Celtics; but as poorly as road teams have played in the playoffs, it's anyones game..all you have to do is steal one on the road. Anyone that can do that, wins that round
I honestly don't care who wins between LA and Boston, if we get that final, everyone wins

1. This is an easy choice. Kobe is a petulant whiny punk and I hope he gets embarrassed (even if robert horey is a cheater). Plus I want to see KG go up against Tim Duncan in the finals.

2. San Antonio matches up with LA really well. TD is a better power forward than odem, Tony Parker is probably the best point guard in the NBA. Genobli is the best 6th man in the NBA and is a much better small forward than sasha. Also Bowen can guard Kobe about as well as anyone in the NBA, and I think oberto can handle gasal. Plus san antonio has a better bench.

3. I think Boston wins it, but they may end up in the finals without winning a road game which would be crazy. I think San Antonio will beet Boston (but I will be rutting for Boston).

Bring back the polls!

1. This is very painful for me to say, but I want the Lakers to win. Only because I think they are more likely to lose in the championship round.

2. Spurs. This is painful too, but I think the Spurs are the best team in the NBA right now.

3. Celtics. I hope either team from the east beats either team from the west, but the team I'll be rooting for is Boston. I'm a Blazers fan, but I became a Blazers fan because of Danny Ainge, so I'll root for Boston for Danny.

I, too, wish we could have the polls back (now what was the reasoning for not having them again?? )

1 - Want to win... Hmmm.... THAT is a tough one. Do I go with the hated Lakers to further the conspiracy theories, OR, do I go with the Spurs because I really HATE the Lakers (and Kobe).... Hmmm.... Did I mention I hate the Lakers?

2 - Think will win.... That's easy. The Lakers. Part of the conspiracy is that the MVP has the most likely shot of advancing to the Finals. Besides, "everyone that's anyone" ADORES the Lakers... "They are the bomb".

3 - Winner of Boston/Detroit series. Boston. Everyone knows that the conspiracy is to get the Lakers and Celtics (back together...) The city of Boston can hardly do no wrong when it comes to sports.... The NBA Finals winner will be Boston, only because they were paid to have a championship, AND, it's been a long time in coming...

As you all know, I am a Lakers fan, having grown up in LA. So of course I want them to win.

I actually think the Lakers will win the series too. In game one, Fisher and Odom had really bad games and Duncan's play was outstanding and the Lakers still won...Kobe is not playing like a petulant whiner---he can smell a ring--and his game has been superlative. I am not impressed with the Celtics, but I am even less impressed with the Pistons, so I will go with the Celtics making it to the Finals. In the Finals I would pick either the Spurs or the Lakers to win it all....They are much more likely to win one on the road than the Celtics are....
