Just a note - despite the fact that DirecTV kept saying that the deal was going to end, it has continued across the board and appears likely to do so until at least the beginning of September. All of the previously mentioned discounts are still available in the exact same manner and form. Sweet.

Will my bill really go up 23 bucks after a year?! Would there be another deal I could then sign up for to resign under contract to lower my monthly bill? (Similiar to getting free cell phones every few years?)

Sometimes there are deals to re-sign, sometimes there aren't. AAA had one a few months ago (DirecTV $10 off per month for existing customers) and it may come back. We'll have to see when we hit that point.

You can get the $17 enrollment fee wiaved in Utah (and maybe Northern California and Nevada since they are in the same AAA region) at www.aaa.com with promo code "JAZZ0708". PM me if you want to use my AAA membership number in this AAA region. I have been told that they let you use friend and family memberships. If not, $52 for $240 savings isn't a bad investment!

You neet to sign up for DirecTV by calling 800-242-9114 in order to get the triple A deal. Plus if you use a referral you can each get $50 referral credit (my acct #: 81294689).

Plus get $20 off for going paperless and another $10 month off (at least in Utah) for bundling with Qwest. Plus, you can ask DirecTV to match Dish's "go green" promotion and get free premium channels (I got free Showtime for 6 mos., others have gotten more). They charged me $99 for HD DVR and gave me standard DVR free, plus free install and shipping.
