I served on a mission with Kirby and the first time I met him I formed the opinion that there was something about him that I didn't like. He once asked me why I didn't talk much around him and I half jokingly replied with, "because I don't like you."
I understand actors have to eat and all but out of all the things you can do for your career why this? Even though I don't like the guy at all he is one of the most talented people I have met. There were a few times where a little pee actually came out from laughing so hard at some of the stuff he would do. Personally I think it was a complete waste of his talent and a step in the wrong direction.
Heck, he wasn't even really acting. Grabbing a beer and walking into a club isn't much different from his behaviour while serving as AP in the Dominican Republic.
My personal feelings of him as a person asidd, if he was a regular actor without a strong LDS reputation then the beer commercial wouldn't be a big deal. But what kind of message is being sent while watching the RM grab a beer and walk into a club or party? I see it as a slap in the face to all of the faithful members and other people who have helped him get where he is today.
