Force is Satan's plan. Affirmative action rings of the philosophy, I will save everyone. Nowhere are the fruits of Satans plan going to better in the long run than God's plan. Those items in that article are based on living among one's own culture. The same principles of agency are in every culture and if you want to live them, act like it, don't force it. Remove gov force and use gov to protect our agency and freedom, not control us. Control gets back to Satan's plan.

It seems that whenever discussions turn to politics in LDS circles, some like to define the issues as good vs evil, God vs Satan, etc.. It simplifies extremely complex and debatable issues down to a ridiculously simple choice. Are you on God's side or Satan's side? (Gee, let's see...) This makes it so easy.. we don't even have to THINK about it. Just a pet peeve of mine.
