,The "place" the band has by the Marriott Center is called a parking lot. It is relatively new and extravagantly gaudy, with all the latest innovations in asphalt and white paint, but all they do is meet and practice there. All the students keep their own instruments, uniforms, etc. in their apartments. What's wrong with something new for the band? I'm sure there were no big, important projects that were put on hold for a few years so they could do this one.
Good to hear that the ol' parking lot has been upgraded "with all the latest innovations in asphalt and white paint". Wouldn't want the band to be stuck using the same ol' asphalt and white paint that they've used for the past 35 years. And of course we wouldn't want the band members to keep their own instruments and uniforms. Too much responsibility.
I'm not against taking care of the band but I do prefer no excuses over lame ones. :S
Please don't tell me you can't recognize sarcasm when you read it.
What excuses are you talking about? I'm not giving any excuses for anything, and I'm not saying the band has some right to new facilities. I'm just clarifying for those who don't know that the band doesn't have any facilities of their own. And yes, they've functioned fine without them for years and years.
But, once again, as long as there aren't bigger projects put on hold just to pay for this one, who cares? (Unless you're the one who donated the money, then you have a right to care). Amazingly enough, our sports programs are also doing great with the facilities they have. Who knows, maybe the new band offices will be the final straw to push the football team to BCS glory. (That was sarcasm).
