Brandon Doman on Max Hall
"He is the best we have had in four years and that is not a knock on John Beck," quarterbacks coach Brandon Doman told the Salt Lake Tribune."
So four years ago, I think that was Matt Berry and a freshman John Beck. Is Doman saying that Hall is the best we've had since Berry? Sounds like another error, along with Bronco being an alumnus and Willing coming from Vandy...or am I missing something?
I think the period of time Coach Doman was referring to is the length of his tenure as QB coach when he made the comment.
I took it to mean that Max was getting the job done and done well! :woohoo:
Obviously, Doman (and by extension the entire coaching staff) has adopted John Beck as a kind of lucky charm. And as such, replaced the phrase "knock on wood" with "knock on John Beck". Therefore, the correct interpretation is that Max is so good that we will not need to rely on luck, like we needed to four years ago every time Berry touched the ball.
I applaud this move by the coaching staff, as it is the first step toward canonization as Saint Beck, the patron saint of receivers-open-in-the-end-zone, and legitimizing the miracle of the "Answered Prayer" of 2006.
