I know it's wonderful news that Direct TV has picked up the Mtn. for all you who have Direct TV. I'm not quite as fortunate! I'm still under contract with Dish Network for another year and it's killing me that I have to suffer another year of getting the shaft!
Am I the only cougarblue poster who is still with Dish Network? Does anybody know if there are any updates with Dish Network?
If I lived in Utah I'd be able to crash a buddys house for all the games, but here in Texas, cougar fans are few and far between.

I don't know. My Dad still has Dish too. He just called a week ago to ask again about it and he just got the same old response about how they don't know of any plans to get it, but they would like to, yada yada.

I just moved and I'm holding out until the last second because I'd much rather go with Dish over DirectTV. But not if it means not having BYU football. You would think that If Dish were to get it, they would have a while ago so as to not have lost the customers they already have. It seems a lot of the damage has already been done.

I looked on the website and could not find the MTN on the "all everything" package. Rather than look individually at the packages, I looked at the most expensive, top of the line package and it was not listed. I then called twice and talked to two different sales reps. Both confirmed that it is not presently being offered. And they told me that I could file a request for the MTN. I told them that I have filed numerous times over the past two years and I still get the same "canned" response from Dish Network. In my opinion, Dish Network is not even close to adding it. That's not good news. I've had Dish Network for the past two years and have generally been happy with the service. I think it is cheaper for me than DirecTV because I have 4 TV's which need receivers. However, with ALL the specials DirecTV ran last month (w/ the AAA membership), I finally decided it was time to switch if I want to watch the Cougs football this year. It reduced my monthly payment for the first year and raised it slightly for the second year. However, I now have two DVR's whereas before I had -0-. I hate the contract commitment for another two years, but I was going to pay one way or another. If Dish has it offered in two years, I may switch back depending on which I like better and the $$ of each. My switch to DirecTV will be July 3rd........

I'm hoping that Dish picks it up. I live in Boise, but I get the Utah local channels. Our Dish installer gave me a Utah address, so I could get watch The Beat Goes On, CougarBeat, KJZZ, etc. I haven't checked to see if DirectTV could do the same thing, but it would be a sweet gig for me to have the mtn. and get the Utah channels.

One way you can accomplish this when you're setting up your account with DirecTV give them your "physical" address as a Utah address, and then specify that you also want a mailing address, which would be your real address. They base programming on physical address, but do all their mailing by the mailing address.

Thats supposedly how sports personalities are able to get the Sunday Ticket without team blackouts, they simply list a physical address in Utah where there are no NFL blackouts.
