Wouldn't it be awesome if both of us were undefeated going into the final game... and then we beat them? Imagine... it would be on their home field, would determine who wins the conference and would clinch a BCS berth for BYU while dashing the dreams of the Yoots.
Yes, that would be grand. But wouldn't it be even better if the Yoots were going in to the game with a record of 2-9, having been exposed as the group of posers that they really are. Only to have the mighty Cougars roll them up right in the friendly confines of Rice-E Stadium.
Nothing is better than listening to sports radio in SLC during a week where BYU won big and the Yoots lost. Listening to band wagon jumping Utes is one of my favorite guilty pleasures!
In some ways I'm more worried BYU would lose to a 2-9 Utah team than an undefeated one. Too easy to take a 2-9 opponent lightly, even though it's a huge rivalry game. It also might be easier for a 2-9 Utah team to get up for their "bowl" game.
That being said, regardless of their respective records at the end of the regular season, I hope the Cougars rename Rice-Eccles. Let's call it LES North.
I got to be honest Utah has me worried. I am not worried that they will win the conference so much as they will beat BYU. With Johnson back at full streghnth, Mack, and Casteel they may be good and they always play BYU so tough. I don't think they will be in the BCS race becasue Utah has a record of loosing 2-3 games they should win every year. But I guess that is good because someone has to give the UNLV's of the world some hope.
