I don't care about the where the yewts are at but they even should be ranked a little higher. At least a spot or two.
But BYU definately deserves to be 3 spots higher. But acknowledging the BCS bias, I'm not altogether upset about #17 either. But tell me, how does Wisconsin, Kansas, Auburn and to a certain extent Clemson deserve to be in front of the Cougs? Clemson, just has never shown they can do anything with all that talent. Auburn has few returning starters, the most glaring of which is at QB. Kansas, though returning a solid QB, lost alot of what made them competitive last year. And Wisconsin is just a joke. The big ten sucks but becuase they were fourth in conference they automatically get a top 25 ranking. Not only that but a high one. They lost their QB too. And of the big ten teams, I don't know how they deserve to be higher ranked than the Illini who have Juice Williams returning.

Looks like Fuitak agrees with me at least on VaTech and Auburn.
But he does give the Cougs some credit in that he thinks if they were ranked a few spots higher, it might not have been a stretch.
He says the Aug. 30 showdown between the pukes and the wolverines might be the game of the week.
Haha, he says about 44th ranked Notre Dame, "talk about having to earn your way back in to everyone's good graces." Uh yeah, did you not see their 3-9 campaign last year? They were awful, and they haven't won anything meaningful away from South Bend in a long time, especially in a bowl game. They are consistently one of the most overrated teams in the country and get by on name alone. I'd argue that even 44 is too high for an unproven team that went 3-9 the previous year.
Looks like those of us who thought some of these teams were overrated were right! VaTech and Clemson certainly didn't take long to establish the fact. I predict it won't be long before we see Wisconsin follow suit. They may beat Marshall but they won't get by Fresno State and I'm not even convinced they'll beat Michigan at the big house. As for Auburn, I think they drop at least two out of their next 3-4 games. The jury is still out on Kansas.
I also thought I mentioned West Virginia a month ago as being ready to plummet come their first stiff challenge after losing Rodriguez, but I guess I held my tongue on that one. They've got two away games coming up though that could present some real challenges for them. @ East Carolina and @ Colorado. We just saw what ECU did to Virginia Tech. Although West Virginia may be a better team than VaTech, ECU is going to be riding with a little more confidence now and local fans are probably a little more intrigued now that their team is on the brink of cracking the top 25. And Hawkins has the Buffs on the rise too so both could end up as L's for WVU. That'll equate to more upward movement for the Cougars!
