Well, it's almost here.
My Utes take on the Wolverines this Saturday. I wish I were going to the game (my friend, who graduated from the U, is in graduate school at the U of M and he and his entire extended family are going). But, since I can't go, I figure I better make a prediction.
The Utes have the better offense (at this point in time).
The two defenses are equal.
The Utes have the better special teams unit (can you say Sakoda?).
Michigan has home-field advantage.
Michigan has better athletes.
I'll take the Utes 24 - 17. I expect Mack, Asiata, and Sakoda to control the clock for the Utes. I expect Michigan to fumble a hand-off or two because they don't have the spread down yet. I expect Michigan's defense to rock the Utes a couple of times. I expect the Utes secondary to contain Michigan and gather one interception.
I think the line play will be telling. If the Utes can open holes for Mack and Asiata the Utes win. If Michigan's big boys stop the Utes run production the Wolverins win.
What say you? (I know there's another thread below - but this is the "official" thread)
