I am fully expecting a win at CSU. It isn't often that I have said that, even in our glory years. But CSU is not nearly what they used to be (sound familiar?). We will win this game, but if we score 40+ points like some have said I will be really surprised. I'd say more in the 27-13 range. I'll give two predictions.

27-13 BYU or
31-10 BYU

Is it legal to predict two different scores?

BYU will certainly start using the middle of the field now that they've developed a deep threat. Also look for BYU to put up some respectable running yards (60-100) against the awful CSU run defense. (who knows, maybe theis will even turn out to be a break-through game for our horrible run attack) Also, I expect to see Holland (being young and inexperienced) to have a lot of problems against a tough BYU D. He has yet to play against a 3-3-5 D and it'll show. I expect 3+ sacks, 2 picks and at least 1 forced fumble.
BYU will also have a chance to try some new plays offensively and ultimately BYU should get a solid win over the worst CSU team in many many years. CSU will get a big game from their star receiver, I guess he has around 100 yards receiving and score 1or 2 TD's on BYU

BTW can you guys BELIEVE CSU is favored by 5?!? UNBELIEVABLE, who've they beat? Montana State? Good heck, throw me a frickin bone here.

I agree that 42 is a stretch but BYU could have easily put up 40 on BSU if they didn't back up with penalties and sacks on the 1 yard line or if Watkins keeps his feet on the bomb that he could have gone 95 yards on. Yes, BYU can put up 40 on CSU, they may not but I hold by my prediction.

I don't understand the process completely but I have read posts that sound logical on other boards. The way that it was described to me is that the casino's really aren't creating a spread to tell who is going to win but to try to entice people to place bets on both teams so that the house always makes money. If more people are betting on CSU, then they will increase the spread to try to get people to put money on BYU, it has nothing to do with whether the house believes CSU is going to win or not. The posters also pointed out the Notre Dame always has a huge amount of fans putting money down on them and is why they will always be "favored" to win by the point spread.

I agree with many of the other posts, this is an important game. If we can get this win against Colorado State we will be 2-3 going into our two "easiest" games of the year, UNLV and Wyoming, both at home. Suddenly we are 4-3 and just need to win two of the last four games to qualify for a bowl and have a winning season (or at least .500 if we lose a bowl game.)

I look forward to this game as an opportunity to establish some sort of run. We have played some very tough defensive teams, particularly against the run. All four of the teams we have played are ranked in the top 20 against the run. Colorado State's run defense is awful. They have given up 1049 rushing yards in only 4 games. Their last game they gave up 112 yards against division 1-AA Montana State on only 22 carries (5.1 average), and are allowing about 6.4 yards per carry for the year. This game will be a great confidence booster for our offensive line and will really open up things for our offense. My prediction, BYU 34 Colorado State 17.
