If Tico's name was Bill Johnson or John Smith nobody would even be talking about him.

I could care less if the guy even had a name. Why don't we just call him..."the DB who made a tackle and broke up a pass!" I think that pretty much distinguishes him from the group.

Do you really think he'll be starting by the fall? Have you seen him in practice? Unless he does some serious work between now and the fall (which is quite possible) BYU will be in trouble with him starting. If the season started today he would not see the field with the defense.

I am the team chaplain and motivational speaker. He is not better at this point. That is why he has not even cracked the two-deep. The guys from last year have gotten a little better, which was not hard to do considering how poor they were. And hopefully one of the guys coming in the fall will be able to take over one of the cornerback positions. If you watched him in practice he was out of position on almost every play and had a really hard time with simple technique-and this was usually against the second and third team offenses. He has the ability though, but at this point he is a ways away.

Okay, if you seriously have some inside scoop on the team, I do have a question. What does our D-Line look line so far? Also, is the Linebacker crew going to be improved? Please, do tell.

Honestly the D-Line will be fine- barring injury. Especially with the guys coming in the fall. The new scheme helps them more than people realize. Instead of undersized and slow DB's blitzing from 20 yards back, there are bigger, stronger and more athletic linebackers doing the blitzing. I think the key this year is Nixon- he is a game changer and can make this defense (and special teams) great if he can recover from his mission and contribute. Too bad he wasn't Vakapuna's companion, right??
