I predicted we'll lose in a close battle. Kmm. I admit this was a stupid prediction at least. But I'm comforted by the thought that everybody was wrong and none of us could not even imagine a 36-point loss. Here are some thoughts.

1. We are too slow moving the ball and chasing the ball. If we don't run faster, we'll end up worse than 5th in the MWC.
2. Turnovers? Hello? They played very ugly in this area. Uglier than any football team we had over the last three years. Fear I think is an obvious reason.
3. Ainge looked better at PG than Nashif. I didn't know he can actually throw the 3-ers. I hope he will start. And I hope Terry doesn't ever try to throw 3 again -- he was terrible.
4. Free throws? Can we at least score them? Or are we as bad as we were?
5. None of the rookies looked any good tonight, except perhaps Young. He's the only one who impressed me tonight.
6. 3-point game didn't look too bad even with Rose missing the shots. Maybe this is how we can compete.
7. Cleveland -- what's wrong with his eyes? What was that wild winking all about? Hawaii climate?
8. We played probably at least Final Four contestant. They were angry at the fall in rankings and seems like they wanted to try anything to bring it back.
9. We played probably at least Final Four contestant at their home. I didn't see very many BYU fans out there, Danny Ainge excepted.
10. Is this Majerus' new job? He's not very good.
11. This was hopefully our worst game this whole next season. There is always sunshine after rain.
12. I hope they win a game at this tournament just so we could attract more fans to our first real home game. We can't lose our home advantage. However, on a thanksgiving week probably not as many students will come out even if we were ranked.

I think that we had a few bright spots. First Young played very well. And Plastied(sp?) played well in stretches as well. The weakness for this team seems to be the point guard more then anything else.

DON'T TRY TO OVER ANALYZE THE BASKETBALL TEAM. THIS IS GOING TO BE A LONG YEAR. THEY HAVE LITTLE TALENT UP FRONT AND LITTLE TALENT IN THE BACK COURT. CLEVELAND DID NOT GO OUT AND BRING IN ANY IMPACT PLAYERS; HE IS GOING WITH WHAT HE HAS AND THAT ISN'T MUCH. THEY LOOKED AWFUL TO SAY THE LEAST. THE OTHER COACH PULLED THE PLUG EARY OR IT COULD HAVE BEEN A 60 POINT LOSS. THIS IS ONE BAD LOOKING BASKETBALL TEAM. LOOK FOR THE
CROWDS TO BE AROUND 8 OR 9 THOUSAND AS THE SEASON GOES ON.
ITS BAD ENTERTAINMENT; THEY LOOK LIKE A HIGH SCHOOL TEAM.
I KNOW EVERYONE WILL FIND EXCUSES AND SAY THEY ARE YONG AND INEXPERIENCED JUST LIKE THE FOOTBAL TEAM. BALONEY; BYU COACHES ARE NOT GETTING THE JOB DONE AND BYU IS RUNNING FAR
BEHIND UTAH AT THIS POINT IN QUALITY OF TALENT AND COACHING.

Barney... I am going to predict this right now. BYU will beat Utah head to head at least once this season.

Now we need to have some serious improvement to do, but I see the potential for it.

And I think you will quickly see the PG's improve or the other guards will take their minutes.

Your predictions are very brave. Good luck seeing them come true. 8,000 at Marriott Center? You're crazy. Even if we are mediocre , more fans will come anyway. You think we live in SLC or something and our colors are crimson.

Now tell me this. Do you think any team in MWC would do better against NC than we did last night? Do you really think so? We played an angry monster, and at least few times a season teams loose to them 30+ no matter who they are and how bad NC is that year.

So let's not be too negative here. Things will be alright.

qman.....utah should have another good team this year...experienced guards...forwards that have much more talent than ours...a center that is very, very good with experience that the cougars only dream of...and a very deep bench....its going to build a long rebuilding year! don't hinge the year on the utes!!!
