Skewed record? No way!! If we can get the snap to the holder and get it down, the Cougars are 6-0 -- plain and simple. Arizona isn't very good, but their defense is very nice...especially the deep patrol. They broke a couple of big plays, we committed too many penalties and had numerous opportunities to win -- we couged it as they say in Washington State. Against BC, same strory, too many penalties and again couldn't make plays in our kicking game. Yeah, it stinks and I'm still upset about dropping those games, but I think this team has cut out a lot of those dumb mistakes we were seeing last year and earlier in this season. I think progress is definitely being made, and I don't see Bronco letting these guys slack up...our guys understand the big picture. These are basically grown men out there carrying out assignments...I love it when our guys talk about playing and adhering to assignment football. These aren't immature punks that are full of themselves...and I love this team for it. I'm a recent convert to the Church, and I can honestly say I have never had so much fun watching a team in my life -- it's not even close. These guys make me so proud. WE ARE GOING TO WIN THE MWC!!

I actually thought this thread was going to be about why BYU should be 6-0 and how a 4-2 record doesn't indicate our true potential. I think that is just as a legitimate arguement.
Airwolf will always say BYU is bad. Thats his role in this forum. So don't expect Airwolf to fully convert unless BYU plays the #1 ranked team in the nation and beats them by 40, and maybe not even then.

Airwolf--BYU's record IS deceiving--BYU is actually one of the very best 4-2 teams in the country...I think today they'd match up well with any other 4-2 team...and there are a whole lot of 5-1 teams that are glad they are not playing BYU this year....

More than anything, I can't believe how improved our defensive backs are! Coming into the season, I thought our corners were sub-standard, which is being nice. The entire secondary has made me eat my words, so far. Quinn Gooch hits like a truck, and even Gabriel has made some plays. I never imagined our secondary would be this good. Again, I can't say enough about the coaches because the personnel is pretty much the same as last year.

Tulsa, Boston College, and TCU are all Top 25 material. Those are half of the teams we've played, and we beat 2 of them ([b:46a876441c]BOTH RETURNING CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS![/b:46a876441c]) while taking the 3rd to overtime. [/color:46a876441c]
:P Bull. BC got beat by unranked NC State, TCU was manhandled by both BYU and Utah (who aren't in the top 25) and [b:46a876441c]Tulsa is 4-1, but has only played one good division I-A team (BYU)[/b:46a876441c]. Sorry, but your take doesn't hold water.
Did anybody else catch that Airwolf admitted BYU was a good football team? Airwolf doesn't know which way is up, down, or sideways. He's so busy gagging on advertising at the stadium he can't stand seeing BYU returning to their winning ways.

SwampFoxI would also like to point out that, by Airwolf's logic, Nebraska's record is a bit deceiving. Nebraska has won 5 games and lost one. Granted, their loss was to USC (the one on the west coast). But, who have the beat so far? They have not beat a team yet that has a winning record. The two best teams they have beat are Kansas and Iowa State, each of which are at 3-3.
My logic goes like this. Nebraska may be good, but they haven't had a chance to prove it yet. The schedule hasn't allowed them to prove it. We just don't know yet.
The same goes for BYU. We don't know yet. The loss at AZ was bad. The loss at BC was respectable. And, the wins over Tulsa and TCU were against repectable opponents. Both of those teams will most likely have good seasons. What remains to bee seen is how the rest of the season plays out. The stage is certainly set for a MWC championship showdown at Rice-Eccles stadium in November. All we can hope is that we keep winning and continue to get better.
I have a serious question for you. I actually read your post because you mentioned my other favorite team (Nebraska). You point out that the huskers haven't had the chance to prove that they're a really good team. I am glad that they will at least have that chance (they play Texas, Missouri and possibly the bigXII championship game). I love BYU but do they really have a chance to prove that they are a good team. Who do they play the rest of the year that would prove that they have a solid football team? The MWC is terrible this year. I think a lot of people would make an argument similar to Boise St. (they haven't played anyone) if BYU HAD won all of their games. Thoughts?
