Cruiser, who are you? Do you go to the practices? Do you live with team members that will never get to play?

I know there are injuries. I read the paper on-line. I know that BYU lost 3 great players from last year. SO FREAKING WHAT!! This is all a do about NOTHING!!

And, who is Cruiser? He seems to know the "INSIDE SKINNY" when he posts. I want to know if he's as reliable as Mcgregor and others. Just so I know when to read and when to bypass. I read a post where he mentioned something to the effect that he played for the "Y"...did he? If he did, he just might know that of what he speaks.

I don't know Cruiser personally but I've been reading his posts for over a year and cannot recall a post that hasn't proven spot on when reported in other Utah News at later dates. I trust what he says and understand when he uses his own interpretations of feelings and such rather than just numbers and stats. He even disclaimers when saying he spoke to one or another and not the whole team.

I don't know who Cruiser is but I do appreciate his info. From what I can gather, Cruiser probably lives in California but is somehow connected to BYU's athletic program. He has mentioned doing some scouting for the basketball program and just last week mentioned "traveling" to Utah to go to conference. Because of inside connections he was able to attend several practices while here. I suspect Cruiser is a former player or coach(football or basketball), knows many of the present coaches, and perhaps has a son or some other friend or relative on the team that sends him an almost daily supply of information. I say, keep the information pipeline flowing.

Having said this about Cruiser, I agree with C-mat that we are getting an almost overkill of information. I think this time of the year, with nearly 5 months to go before an actual game, many CougarBlue readers are like sharks in bloody water. We are seeking any tidbit of information (meat) and are ready to pounce on anything that comes along. Thanks C-mat for bringing some refreshing perspective to the forum. The key thing to remember is that Bronco is in charge and he definitlely has IT. As long as Coach Mendenhall is in charge, Cougar football will be successful.

On a somewhat related note, I was somewhat perturbed at a little blurb written by Gordon Monson http://blogs.sltrib.com/monson/ that was poking at Mendenhall for not making a decision on announcing a definite starter at QB. According to Monson, it would be better to make the announcement now rather than wait until fall. Good grief, last year Kwhitt had three outstanding quarterbacks (tic) and he didn't make a decision until the week of the game. I don't recall Monson criticizing Kwhitt at the time. No, I remember that the media were all saying how great the U would be regardless of who played QB. In fact, they were all better than John Beck and had the capability of throwing 100 yards :o
