It should be noted, for our Meridian friend Iceman, that while Boise State U. flames are ignited, some of your Boise High schools appear to be whimps.
For example the historical Boise flagship football program, BORAH (remember the "WE ARE -- BORAH"

, hired Dirk Koetter's younger brother (and Highland graduate), to coach Borah 2 years ago. He had coached Highland (following his older brother and father) to several state championships. He quit last year because of complaints, from the parents, that he expected too much from the kids, and he was demanding too much of their time. As a result, Boise State will most likely need to keep coming to Pocatello for quality recruits.
Borah, in the 60's and 70's and into the 80's, ran one of the top football programs in the nation. They would win games easily by over 50 points). For example, Ara Parseguin (Notre Dame coach in 60's/70's time frame) routinely visited and recruited Borah kids, and often stated that Borah was as good as any high program in the nation. In addition, one year, the University of Idaho football team was crippled with an unusual amount of injuries. The U of Idaho coaches began walking the Fraternities and Dorms to locate any kids who had played football for Borah High school.
Boise State has gone from Junior college, to state, college, to state university. Regarding academics, a tee shirt worn at U of I states:
BJC
BSC
BSU
BFD
