ps Weddle will NOT be cut from ANY team that drafts him, let alone 2

ESPECIALLY now that I saw what SD gave up for him I would BET MY HOUSE that you are VERY wrong. I don't know your history here on this board maybe you are the Motley Fool in the corner that says stupid things to provoke comment. I don't know.

2 reasons why your "prediction" of Weddle being released before the first game are wrong.

1) whoever gave up 3 draft picks to get him MUST have alot of influence in the SD organization. IF he felt that strongly to
a) do it and
b) have the POWER to do it
Then he has the power to make sure he makes the team for at least 2 years (so he doesn't look stupid) Ego at the professional level is a great motivator

2) He can play, I am guessing that since ALL of the draft "experts" had him 2nd round-ish that that means their sources (of which there are many) ALL think he can play. Call me an idealist but I will take the opinions of the PROFESSIONALS instead of some yahoo sitting in his living room with NO CREDIBILITY, and in this case, no clue.

That's just my humble opinion,. But this time, it's spot on perfect.

Here is an opinion of "PROFESSIONALS" from Fox Sports:

San Diego's moving up to pick Weddle was one of the "WORST PICKS" of the draft. (See 2nd Beck/Weddle thread below)

I am not a troll, but do have strong opinions. I saw more of Eric Weddle than most (95%) of Ute "fans". I'm pretty sure I've watched Weddle more than you and I KNOW that I've seen more of him than your beloved "PROFESSIONALS". I have a compulsion to watch Utah games, especially when they lose (which has been about half the time over the past 2 seasons).

The man is no good as a defensive back. Unless New Mexico and Wyoming (and BYU) have NFL-caliber offenses, which would explain why he got burned for several TD's and other long plays, Weddle will not be a good DB. Period. He was the worst of the starting 4 defensive backs (Shyne, Tate, and I can't remember the other guy's name-all better defensive backs than Weddle).

He may make some special teams unit after getting cut a couple times. I just can't see him covering NFL receivers. Heck, he couldn't even cover UNLV receivers all that well.

I will tell you with certainty it's about 100 to 1. Because NOW after getting grief from the draft pundits. He will HAVE to make the team. Shoot; they kept Leaf for 3 years.

The whole point of the statement is to accentuate the fact that I think he's not any good. I am not wrong about that. I may be wrong stating that he'll get cut twice-I just don't think so.

You obviously have not seen the games I have referred to-or you have and you know your argument has no leg to stand on. You have not responded to any of my questions. I guess doing so may be too much of a challenge for you.

Tell your friend Eric that I'm sorry, but that's just how I see it. I do think he's a pretty good guy, especially after he congratulated Beck after "the play" last year.

Miami was trying to get another first round pick to get Beck. Had someone been willing to work with Miami, Beck WOULD have gone before Weddle. heres to woulda, coulda, shoulda!!

I may have to agree with LinemenRule here about Waddle. I hated him at Utah, and his facial-hair [i:c9c330250a]looks [/i:c9c330250a][b:c9c330250a]retarded[/b:c9c330250a]. BUT! He has a lot of skill and is a very respectful player. I think the games where he got toasted last year (Wyoming, New Mexico, BYU, etc) he more than made up for in the rest of the season. He was also heavily overused by DimWhitt to make up for the Yewts' total lack of depth at almost every position, and was forced to play tired more often than not in the 2nd half of games.

Plus you just don't cut someone you traded 4 picks to draft in the early 2nd round, no matter how bad he may turn out to be in real life. [/color:c9c330250a]

I am NOT wrong about his remarkable inability to play well in the defensive backfield in the NFL. He and his soul-patch don't deserve their 1/2 second spot on the most recent click-clack ad.
