As AKing was outlining possible losses in another thread it got me thinking. There seems to be only 4 opponents that we as BYU fans could possibly consider losing to next year: Arizona, UCLA, TCU, and Utah.

I don't want to sound too cocky, but I feel there is no way any team on the schedule outside of those four could beat BYU. Am I too cocky predicting that BYU will end the year with an 11 game MWC road winning streak? Do any of you feel this way?

I agree with you MR. I think that with our returning starters alone, we have a fighting chance and then add in the great conditioning (physical AND mental) and there's no reason the Cougs shouldn't take down the majority of the MWC. 1 in the "agree" column.

Don't forget we play New Mexico and Wyoming on the road. Both of those teams showed promise last year. Depending on how Hall works out at qb and whether or not Fui can stay healthy we could have a rougher year ahead then you think.

Then again,

Hall could be awesme, fui could be unstoppable and we could win every game.

I'm just throwin it out there.

Playing at Wyoming is always a challenge. Throw the lovely November weather into the mix and the less than friendly crowd and isn't a gimme game.

I always hope BYU to go undefeated but am not dissapointed in setbacks along the way.

Looking at BYU's historical records since 1972, they have produced the following records:

Undefeated: 1
One loss: 5
Two loss: 4

I hope BYU can add to that total again.

I definitely think Fui definitely gives BYU a better chance to be a better team, but look at what Bronco has done. BYU is full of players that are chomping at the bit to shine in a moments notice.

An extended family member is best friends with Fui and asked him who the one person is that nobody knows now, but will definitely know by the end of the season. He said, Wayne Latu. rasta mon, I think you are dead on. As fans we see there is the foundation to do well. I really think BYU is in a reloading phase, not a rebuilding phase. Although on any Saturday, the favorite can lose, I just don't think BYU will lose to the others on the schedule. That's 8 wins, realistically. I also think they will split the TCU/Utah games, so that will give them 9 wins. I would be happy with 8-9 wins, especially if one of them is over Utah. As for UCLA and Az, I think BYU should be favored over Az as we have discussed earlier, though it most likely will be decided in the final minutes of the game, and BYU has a prayer against UCLA. Our defense will keep us in that game and we might pull off the upset at the end. Maybe we have a repeat of a rookie QB going into hostile territory against a preseason top 10 team and upsetting them. Blue eye goggles can see a perfect season, realistically 8-10 wins sounds about right.
