I am as big a cougar fan as the next but last night I was watching the TCU game from last year and fui was stuff almost every time he ran. I think he had 5 or 6 runs and probable gained about 10 total yards. Yeah, he had a great game against Utah state but come on...really? He did have a few good runs through out the season and had a lot of TD's but as I remember they were very close to the goal line and he just charged his way through but further up the field I see his skills diminish.
I hope he does better this year as the lead rusher but with AZ's D and then UCLA and their D...and now with Tonga possible suspended for the first game or so AND if fui does play he is coming in off an injury...I hope Hall gets comfortable after the coin toss on Sept. 1st. Just my 2 cents. Please show/tell me where I am wrong, I really want to wrong about him.

I predict big things for Unga this year. I used to be in a singles ward with him and he is a good guy. I have heard great things about him from the coaching staff. Look for him to see a considerable number of carries.

JJ should also get some carries. We could also see him at h-back.

I am not concerned for our running game this year. I think we are very solid and deep.

I'm not sure why you are looking at just 5-6 plays against TCU as a point for your argument. Fui averaged 4.8 yards a carry for the season. Curtis Brown averaged 5.0 yarda a carry. I'll take 4.8 yards a carry every play. Plus, expect it to be more with our O-Line.

You've already shown yourself where you are wrong about Fui. "He is coming off an injury." Keep in mind that most of last year when Fui did play, he was playing with a bad ankle. Go back and look at the Arizona game and the Tulsa game when Fui was not injured. He ran better against Arizona than did Curtis Brown. Against Tulsa he broke off a long run that was a thing of beauty. Also, in the off-season, while his ankle has been healing, word is that Fui has been a demon in the weight room working on upper body strength. Trust me, if Fui's ankle is fully healed he is going to be phenomenal. I can't wait.

Does the Tulsa or Air Force game bring back anything???

lol, in all seriousness. FUI is a "bruiser" type running back, he's not expected to get over 100 yards a game, even though he is quite capeable.
He is the guy who we give the ball to in 3rd and short/ redzone situations, and it works for us. Don't be hatin on fui!
