I saw this thread and thought: "Oh, an interesting thread," but no, this was a pathetic thread because it was all about Airwolf. It was pathetic not because of Airwolf (he had only a few of the many posts), but because all of you wrote about him.
Quit wasting your time!!! You all are the reason the threads on this board are just a rotting core of nothing. I'm disgusted with the quality of this site recently, not because of one moron, but because of your pathological need to respond to every darn thing he says!
Why can't Cruiser just come back???

My thoughts exactly. It's like the annoying kid in school that is always bothering you until you and your friends decide to ignore him. Airwolf only wants attention so if we stop giving it to him, he will go away.
Life is much easier when you conclude that Airwolf is an idiot and there's nothing you can do about it. Regardless of how brightly the sun is shining, there will always be someone there to say that it isn't. That's the kind of person it takes to never admit that they are wrong.

I was very impressed with BYU's Defense on Saturday. Arizona couldn't get into a rhythm offensively because of our defensive intensity and execution. I actually think that Arizona will have a good season from now on. Time will tell how dominant our defense really is.
They also showed a lot of heart. Given the injuries they've had to go through, they really stepped up. During the post-game show, Bronco mentioned that Quinn Gooch had been really sick during the week and was on IV's. We have great leaders on the defense who really leave it all on the field. I'm feeling better about the UCLA game the more I think about our defense.
GO COUGARS!!!

It's evident and obvious because...UCLA beat Stanford? A Jr. High level offense?
600+ yards of offense... against anyone... is no fluke.
Unless, of course, it's BYU who gets the 600+ yards of offense. Then it's because they played poor competition, or someone who was unmotivated, blah, blah, blah.
Let me tell you something, Airwolf. BYU has a GOOD football team. They can play with ANYONE in the country. They have a GOOD defense. They have a GOOD offense. I have lived in PAC-10 country, Big 10 Country, ACC country, and the MWC. Right now, I work for Va. Tech. BYU could beat them. No joke. Tech has a GREAT defense, but not a very good offense. Do you think that they are a high school team? They barely beat East Carolina this weekend. Only scored 10 offensive points against EAST FREAKIN' CAROLINA. But they're top 10 material. Only rushed for 30 yards against ECU, but hey, they're top 10!
What makes BYU good is that they don't kill themselves. No longer does a fumble or an INT doom us like they did in the days of Crowton. This team is sound. They do what they do VERY well. And that execution will beat talent many times. SDSU has more talent than BYU, but they suck because they can't/don't/won't execute.
Last season, over an entire season, BYU had a really good defense. Stats over an entire season does not lie. This season's defense is better due to depth and a lot of returning experience. Sure, a couple of teams may score points, but even good defenses give up some points sometime. Case-in-point: Wisconsin this past weekend gave up 21-24 points. Arizona has a good defense, and gave up 20 to us, and it should have been more if not for our own Special Teams blunders.
In any case, BYU has talent. They have recruits that have been recruited by EVERY OTHER conference in the nation. They play good non-conference teams. Everyone acknowledges this. They are disciplined, talented, execute well, and most importantly represent BYU the way that we fans want to be represented.
So shut it.

Well then, I apologize. I'm sorry I was too busy fighting the forces of evil to cater to your as yet unstated needs. I'm sorry that I feel a need to uphold truth, justice, and the American way. I'm sorry that I will stand up and correct falsehoods presented as facts, anytime, anywhere, no matter who decides to get offended by it.
Alright, just kidding. I'm not sorry. I'm proud of it. And I won't stop. Not because I like to argue, but because I won't let lies stand unchallenged, in any forum or situation. Edmund Burke said, "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." This is what you want us to do? Nothing? Now, I'm not saying Airwolf poses us any threat - far from it. But if I see something wrong here and I do nothing, isn't there a chance that I'll see things that are wrong in other places, and do nothing there? And on and on, until evil triumphs over good? I won't take that risk, and you can whine about it all you want, but I won't do it. Reminds me of a movie, actually:
Colonel Jessop said:
And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives...You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall. You need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty...we use these words as the backbone to a life spent defending something. You use 'em as a punchline.
Did I go overboard? Maybe, maybe not. But I had fun. How about you? Was your diatribe really justified? Are you really that mad that we're wasting our time? Or are you just angry that you wasted time voluntarily reading an argument on a BYU sports forum? Were you really that disappointed with how this thread turned out?

I have never ever posted anything related to Airwolf, but I cannot resist.
I just had the funniest thought … what if Airwolf isn't a real person? I'm serious here, guys. Is it possible that he is simply the fictional creation of one of the moderators (or former moderators) built to be as pessimistic as possible to encourage discussion on the board. It seems possible when all of the longest threads are the ones that Airwolf chimes in on.
Hmmm? Interesting mystery!

Definitely a good marketing tactic. Every post by Airwolf has about 50 responses to it. Airwolf is part of about 25 % of all discussions.
You may be on to something.
