I don't understand how you can say that Tulsa was not the better team. Is your vision of BYU so distorted that they cannot possibly be beaten fairly by another college football team? It bothered me when nobody gave credit to UCLA last week, it was the officials that beat BYU. Now we lost, not because Tulsa played an excellent game of football for which they prepared for two weeks, but because BYU didn't show up??? Ever consider that a majority of the penalties were a result of the growing frustration that BYU players felt as they were constantly playing from behind. Maybe they expected to blow this team out (like everybody on this site did), and they got frustrated when Tulsa was beating them on both sides of the ball.
Anyway, don't give me that crap that BYU is better than UCLA and Tulsa, better teams win games.
So much for blowing out Tulsa.
So much for having an excellent coaching staff (the constant worship on this site for Bronco, Hill, & Weber was not commensurate with the level of preparation BYU had going in to last night).
So much for having a top 10 defense.
So much for having a dominating offensive line (I will be shocked if Max survives this season, Reynolds has been playing like he wants Max to be killed).
So much for BCS talk (and thank goodness, like I said, BYU does not deserve to be playing with the best in the country until they start playing well all around against good competition, something they haven't done yet this year).
So much for tearing through conference play (Air Force & Wyoming are pretty good, Utah will play us like they played UCLA, and TCU will have Aaron Brown back when they come to town).
After only three games I have been extremely disappointed. It looks like Airwolf had a better read on this team (maybe without even opening his eyes, he says the same negative things every year anyway) than most folks on this board.
This was an amazingly disappointing loss. Congratulations Tulsa.
