Good post and ultimately where we are in our fandom will determine where we are in our coping. I am too invested but am able to move past it pretty quickly. Saturday night/Sunday morning I kept waking up in the night thinking if this play or that play had gone differently we would have won. Today, I'm all about Air Force and beating those guys. Can't wait!
Gotta go home teaching now, and FHE soon thereafter, and reading BoM, and fishing, plan the hunting trip, anniversary next March, etc.

First dang double post. How embarrassing.
Interesting side note, when I put embarrassing into google, one of the entries that popped up was UCLA losing to Utah. Google's pretty good I'd have to say.

You are like me my brother...feels good huh? I will go to the grave as a cougarfan but I will not let a loss take me to the grave. One loss will not start me questioning the players or the coaching or trying to decide what we need to do. The coaches get paid good money to do that. I am too busy to worry. I also am all about Air Force right now!

How to cope with a BYU loss: pray hard that you might know what you did (or didn't do) to cause it to happen, and then fix it.

It's hard to think we were 1-2 last year too. It's just been so long since we've lost, & way too long since this many penalties & turnovers (nearly more in 2 games than all last season). I was more invested in this game because if we ran the table a BCS Bowl is realistic. Presures off a bit now because we're playing for the Las Vegas Bowl against familiar teams for a conference title, which I think we are still favorites for given our realistic team potential and (home) conference schedule. However our conference is looking more interesting every week then many previously thought & teams will surprise each other. We will have 4 bowl eligible teams this year & maby more. Utah won't be even with the UCLA win.
