What are we complaining about remember this "crappy" Pac-10 team beat us this year. That is the reason we aren't playing somebody with a better record. if we beat them they are not bowl eligible, and at worse we get someone different. We need to stop being such homer fans. Lets take the opportunity for a rematch, and go out and try to beat them.

UCLA at 6-6 is a far superior team to Navy. Beating them will help BYU's reputation and if they played teams from a minor conference, regardless of the quality of team, it doesn't help in view of non-MWC people. Even when BYU is as good as they are this year, it is really important that the pound UCLA to send another message, following up on the big win over Oregon in last year's bowl, that they play real football, hard nosed football, and con dominate other teams. It is hard for BYU because if they lose it their rep drops really fast, while when teams from higher regarded conferences lose, like UCLA, many feel that it is a fluke. The Cougars carry the flag of the entire conference regardless of what the other teams do.

I am very disappointed to be playing UCLA in the Las Vegas Bowl,
for so many reason.

What a sad way to end our season,
and i hope next year turns out better.

If we had beaten them the first time we would be facing Georgia in January. Now is the time to punish them this year and to make them afraid for next year.

Thanks imuakahuku, you got me out of my funk about playing our worst possible opponent--maybe your suggestion will help our players prepare for real. karma for you...

Here are Sagarin's ratings from 12/1. UCLA and Cal will be a little lower from their losses, Navy a little up. Shows that UCLA is probably still the best opponent being played in a MWC bowl game...cold consolation, but consolation nonetheless.
