I am all about celebrating my teams victory rather then my opponents defeat, but it was rather sweet to see lil Davis so miserable after the game. Not because I revel in my opponenets misery, but because he was such a punk during the game. He was trying to hurt Hall during and after plays! He may be good and he may be invested in the game but he is a punk! It is always in the dark hours of a loss that you get to see an athletes true colors. When Hall and company lost to the Bruins back in September, even though it was painful and hard to swallow, you better believe Hall and company were there shaking hands and congratulating. After the game tonight where was Davis? He was balling to his team mates (thats fine by me) but then he ran into the locker room rather than congratulating his opponent and facing a loss like a man! Oh well, I will let him off the hook, he probably just realized his football career is over as he is too small for the NFL and will soon have a full time job at 7-11, which is fine by me as well!
Unlike oompablue, I love celebrating my opponent's loss. However, I didn't think Davis was playing dirty pool, I think he knew that they were down to their 4ts string QB and that if he could clean Hall's clock and knock him out of the game, the field would be a little more even. However, I failed to see where he played with the intention to end Halls' career. About his tears afterwards, my take was how important this game was for UCLA. I mean these guys really wanted to win this game, therefore, for anyone to say that BYU should have blown UCLA out of the stadium, let that be symbol of how keyed up they were to play the game. It almost seems like it meant more to them than it did us.
I wouldn't be surprised if Davis was drugged up though. This would explain both his speed and style of play, as well as, his apparent emotional volatility. I can't wait to get a piece of him the 3rd game of next season in Provo. I hope somebody takes it upon themselves to knock him out of the game... not end his career or break anything, just really clean his clock.
