but you do have a point my friend...It may not be such a good thing for John. It could be that his NFL shot is over, but i'm just trying to be more Optimistic about life so I figured i'd try to practice it on something I am passionate about and thats sports and though i'm bummed that John is probably out in Miami, might as well be optimistic and hope he gets another shot.

Pennington, 32, agreed Friday night to a two-year, $11.5 million contract that pretty well locks him into starting, according to a source. Contacted by six teams on Thursday, Pennington wasted no time reuniting with the person who brought him into the NFL as a first-round pick of the Jets, Bill Parcells.

Parcells pushed hard over the past 48 hours to get a deal with Pennington done. Pennington was scheduled to make $6 million with the Jets but was released when New York acquired Brett Favre from the Green Bay. The Packers get a fourth-round choice that could be upgraded to a No. 1 depending on Favre's play.

Top backup quarterbacks usually make around $3 million a year, which makes it apparent the Dolphins plan to use Pennington in a starting role.

It's not only the O-line that is terrible in Miami. I have read many reports that mention the WRs can't even catch the ball when it is delivered well.
I agree, Beck needs to be TRADED... if he were released... would someone even pick him up? A terrible showing last yr after been thrown to the lions. And now, almost nothing but bad reports in camp.
I really want Beck to succeed but, it's not like he is being ripped off by having these other Qb's brought in... he simply hasn't stepped up yet.

Actually, the phins would probably keep Beck around so he can learn from an experienced QB. I really don't see this as bad. It might turn out to Beck's advantage.

I think Green made a better mentor then Pennington could ever be. I don't know if I want Beck picking up too many of Pennington's habbits

The press here in Miami have all tabbed Henne as the quaterback of the future and either McCown or Beck as the backup. Although the coach has said that they may keep 4 quarterbacks, it looks like there is a good chance Beck is released or traded given how camp has gone so far. If he is released, I believe that he will be hard pressed to get picked up. This is really not a good situation for Beck to be in right now. He did not have a productive showing today in the preseason game against Tampa and the bad just seems to be piling up. More and more, it looks like being drafted by the Dolphins was the worst thing that could have happened to Beck. I guess we will see how it all plays out.
