I heard DJ and PK this morning on the radio that BYU struck a deal with Alabama to get out of the Season opener with Tulane and allow Alabama play another schedule. Is there any truth to this?
If BYU has a great season this year, it would be excellent to open the season show casing the new team with their best team yet. I expect 2009 to be a banner year for the Cougs not to diminish this year in the least.

I'm confused--what are you saying? That Alabama is currently scheduled with Tulane, and Tulane would switch to playing us? Or that somehow Alabama will be adding us to their schedule by getting Tulane off of it?

I like that non-conference schedule: Arizona State, Florida State, Tulane, and Utah State. If Arizona State continues to play like they did last year, it could provide a mix of good opponents and easier but respectable wins.

Has anyone else noticed the improved public relations and accessibility with the athletic department and the football team? I mean, Jeff Reynolds is actually keeping a pretty up to date blog. I'm thinking this is really a response to the "cruiser" (bless him, wherever he is) situation earlier in the year. Finally the athletic department realized that fans just want info - and if the athletic department is more liberal in giving it out they have a much better chance of controlling its content. Anyway, good blog Mr. Reynolds.

Tulane would be a very good game to have in the pre season. They are not a very strong school but the are D1. Having FLA ST and AZ ST on the sched it will be nice to have someone such as tulane.
