About Cougar Bluers 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago

I have been visiting Cougar Blue for over five years now. I don't even remember how I was turned onto it. I used to post under the name WixomCougFan but I lost my login and moved from Wixom, MI to Mesa, AZ hence the new name. I thought that I would post to learn more about my fellow CBers. Share if you are interested.
1. Where do you set up shop as a Cougar fan?
I live in Mesa, Arizona. Work in Scottsdale, Arizona. Will be watching most games this season on my brother's Direct TV in Queen Creek, Arizona.
2. What is the significance of your Avatar?
Lavell Edwards during his playing days.
3. What is your earliest public devotion to the Cougs?
I purchased a junior-sized BYU football from the Griggs store in Pasco Washington when I was in 5th grade. It cost me $5, and it was baby blue. I found it amongst the 500 or so UW purple mini's that were in the same bin. My buddy bought the UW ball and we would play 1-on-1 football in his backyard. He'd be the Huskies and I'd be the Cougars. I ended up throwing the ball on the roof of my elementary school, and I never got it back. I went back to Griggs periodically to see if I could replace it, but never found another Cougar ball.
4. Miscellaneous
I played baseball at Ricks, met my beautiful wife there after my mission to Detroit. My wife was raised in Michigan. We finished our Bachelors programs at USU. The company that hired me out of USU let me pick anywhere in the country that I wanted to go, so we picked Michigan. Spent eight years in Michigan (great place to be from). Moved to Mesa three years ago. With all of the mormons in AZ, I'm surprised how few Cougar fans I run into.

That's a pretty sweet avatar. I am posting from Virginia, so you have to get up pretty early in the morning to beat me, though I haven't had as much time lately for posting, new job. My avatar is my great great great grandfather (I think that is the correct number of greats). A pic I pulled off the web.
Fourth Grade I was able to get through my elementary school A sweet t-shirt that had the front page headlines for the day BYU beat Miami. I wish I still knew where that was. Also for Christmas that year I got a Ty Detmer jersey.
Graduated from BYU in '06. met my wife there, she grew up on the East Coast and wanted to come back.
Edit: I've been on the board about two years now, my brother-in-law introduced me to it.

Thanks Wixom/Mesa.
This might be a nice reference thread over the years.
Though I currently work and live in Utah county, I have posted to Cougar Blue from four different states over the years.
I grew up in California, but for two jr. high years lived in Provo, in the same ward where Giff Neilsen lived--that hooked me for life.
My avatar makes reference to the fact that I work in the financial sector. My board name, which isn't readily apparent to some, is pronounced "wise azz."

1. I live in West Jordan, and I'm a grad student down at the Y right now. I'm originally from vancouver washington, and would like to get back there someday.
2. I'm a comic nerd, in that I actually like to read comics. I'm probably a bigger batman fan, but I think wolverine is more football appropriate .
3. My Dad had this old BYU national championship shirt that I used to wear to school in junior high, until I wore out the shirt that is.
4. Umm, i don't really know what to put under miscellaneous. My wife and I just had our third anniversary. I'm studying counseling psychology and she is in the physical therapy program up at the U. I'm a pretty big nerd in that I like video games and comics, but I also like sports so that makes me a little less nerdy . I also love to read, my favorite authors are Kurt Vonnegut, Irvin Yalom, and Sarah Vowell. I also write a blog for fun: http://katzscommentary.blogspot.com. Is that miscellaneous enough for you?

First started lurking on CB when I lived in CA, now transplanted to Utah county.
My avatar is proudly stolen, and reflects my devotion to Homer Simpson. DOH! My screen name comes from a mild perjorative used by my wife when she is irritated by me, as in "You buzzard!" I learned a few months ago, that gentle insult is quite common in Idaho-thanks to all the Spuds, of which me devoted spouse is one.
Earliest "devotion" would be listening to BYU usually lose as a young boy in SLC. I have vaugue recollections of Virgil Carter's exploits. One year we had season tickets, I went to every game but one, and that was the only one that was a Y victory. So for most of my youth, I considered myself a hex on the Cougars.

1. I live on the Mississippi coast and work at NASA Stennis Space Center. I am limited to watching or listening to BYU games over the internet, and must listen to rants about how great the SEC is and how BYU must stink because "they're in the WAC" (ignorance). I miss the access I had to LES while at college.
2. I like boats?
3. I have been a BYU football fan since before I knew what BYU or football was. My dad would turn on every BYU game (no matter the sport) and get mad when I did anything to interrupt it or block his view of the TV. I would also run around the yard, falling down randomly (I didn't know to play football when I was four and that's what it looked like on TV) pretending to be a BYU football player.
My parents took us to see a game at Cougar Stadium in 1984 that I vaguely remember.
This isn't early, but I had a tee-shirt from Macey's that marked LaVell's 200th career win when I was in High School. I had it for a couple of years, until I wore it on a rafting trip down the Colorado River. Unfortunately, when I jumped into the river, the shirt was permanently stained red by the water(sad ending for a blue and white shirt ).
4. I attended BYU for both college and grad school and met my wife while working early morning custodial at the Harold B. Lee library.
