If Coach Rose plays Chris Miles tonight, he plays him all season. If he doesn't play him tonight, he will likely redshirt him.
1st year players who haven't redshirted can play exhibition and still put on the redshirt for the regular season, but Miles was here a year before his mission, so if he touches the floor tonight he can't redshirt.
My Dad and I will be there. Always a great weekend when you get to see a Football and a Basketball game within a 24 hour period (except when you try to explain to the wife why you have to attend both!)
I will be there tonight and will give my best assesment of the team upon return. I too will be at both the game tonight and the football game saturday. Should be fun. I am really excited about this basketball this year, it seems to me that if BYU loses more then one game in football I really start to move towards BB season because of the whole BCS and of how irrellevent the MWC is. And especially because if you lose a few games the NCAA Tournemant doesn't keep you out of the dance because of it. I really hope though BYU BB can get a marquee win I am really looking at the MICH. ST game and Wake Forest away game as possiable oppertunities I really want to win both, also I would add if we lose to Louiville we will have an oppertunity against ODU a very good team from Colonial. Last year when we played Mich St. Netzel lit us up, because he was quick and able to get off his shot, I think Lamont Morgan will be able to at least stay with him and get a hand in his face, Mich St's inside presence won't be as big of a problem as their gaurds but hopefully we can hang in SLC, WF should not be as imposing as people think they have struggled mightley for last 4 years or so, but it will be big since it is an away game agianst an ACC opponent, the committee looks at those game and puts added weight to them. ODU will be tough if that is who we face and if by chance a small miricle occurs and we beat Louiville, North Carolina will be an game for the team to get some great exposure and experience if we play them whoever we play the rest of the season will seem slowwwwwwwwwww.
I was at the game tonight. My impressions of the team are overall good. Plastied looked improved the little while he played. Cummard missed some easy layups that he should have made but other than that looked really good. Tavernari and Burgess also did well. Murdock had some nice passes and looked good also. Miles helped out a lot on the boards and defensivly. I missed the first five minutes of the game so I didn't see Freddete play at all. I think that the offense looked really good and the defense was pretty good to. There is room for improvement but overall I think it will be a fun year. I think that the starting lineup will be Murdock, Cummard, Plastied, Burgess, Tavernari. But that is just my guess, not for sure because I missed the opening tip. Should be a fun year.
