I am in agreement that this is irresponsible news reporting. But how do you claim that the arresting officer(s) or Springville PD are power-tripping morons? They saw someone run a stop sign, pulled that person over, had reasonable suspicion that the person was on some type of drug (either legal or illegal), and followed standard protocal in booking the accused.

Now, if someone in Springville PD made a call to KSL or some other news outlet, then yes, the I can see the lable "power-tripping morons" being applied. But unless you have proof of such an action, I think your labeling of Springville police is unjustified.

"Why didn't the cop call her husband" ARE YOU KIDDING ME??????? perscription drugs are still drugs...thats why you have to have a perscription to get them and why they say do not drive or operate machinery on them. Yeah it susck she got arrested but she WAS DUI....

They do a series of tests, not just a breathalyzer (stand on one foot and count backwards, nastagmus test etc. . .)

Mars, this is really a moronic post. There is ample evidence to support that she was on a mind inhibiting pain killer. It hasn't been proven in court (mainly because the court date hasn't yet arrived). The reports about her using pain meds because of a serious knee injury are abundant and easily provable.

No one denies that she took legal drugs -- and obviously they were perscribed by a doctor. But I seriously doubt that the Springville PD pulled her over for running a stop sign, saw a bottle of anti-biotics, and decided that she was impaired. Rather, I think the cop probably saw some type of pain killer, or asked if she was on some type of drug or medication.
