Ooh, ungowa, BYU's got Ty Power!
Remember that Johnny Biscuit song from 1990? Wish I could find a copy of it online. Anyway, Mr. Heisman himself was at practice today. Of course, so were a couple hundred BYU fans as well. The west side bleachers were removed this summer so there wasn't as much room as in year's past.
Team in pads today for the first time but not much of a change, although there were more drops by the receivers.
Dallas Reynolds struggled snapping the ball today. I'm sure there's a million things going around in his mind right now as he switches from tackle to center. One thing I like about the change is getting his brother, Matt, on the field at left tackle. I like Matt's quickness to face the other team's best rushers over there.
Little flareup between reserve linebacker Jeff Bell and Fui Vakapuna today, but nothing serious. Still, guard Travis Bright said he and his teammates can't wait to scrimmage on Saturday. It'll be in LES but it will be closed to the public.
Bronco addressed the comments made by freshman wide receiver O'Neill Chambers on ESPN.com. For those of you that haven't read them, he made some remarks about wide receivers that "shouldn't be on the team" and came off pretty brash. Bronco said he addressed it in a team setting and that was that. What really happened? I think Bronco likely talked to guys like Austin Collie and Michael Reed and told them to set O'Neill straight individually. Sounds like something for a leadership council to handle, right?
