The big hit on Tuesday was delivered by former Lone Peak standout Matt Ah You during team drills. He popped WR Landon Jaussi a pretty good one. Jaussi caught a pass, turned, and Matty was right there in his face. Actually, Matty held up a little. If he hadn't, Jaussi would have been a smear on the practice field.
One touchdown during team drills, simulating overtime. Max Hall threw a short touchdown pass to Fui Vakapuna on a five-play drive from the 25.
A very good practice for senior safety David Tafuna, who made plays on three consecutive plays against the No. 1 offense.
Looks like the Cougars have landed another wide receiver recruit, and this guy is from the same school as Austin Collie. Brett Thompson is 6-3 and preps at Oak Ridge High School in El Dorado Hills, Calif. Nebraska, UNLV and Air Force had already offered him.
BYU will have a final scrimmage on Wednesday to sort out a couple of very close position battles. The coaches will game prep for Northern Iowa on Thursday and the players have the day off.
