I've been busy working on the radio show so I haven't blogged for a while. But here's the question I've been thinking about: Can Utah beat Michigan?
I've heard everything from "Utah should beat Michigan" to "Utah will beat Michigan" to "There's no way Utah can beat Michigan."
Here's what I think: Both teams have some strengths and weaknesses, and whoever manages to exploit the others weakness will win. For instance, Utah's secondary is very good but it's front seven, especially the d-tackles are really inexperienced. Michigan has to replace most of its offense but has eight returning starters on defense. I can't imagine Utah can have as much bad luck in its opener as it did last year against Oregon State.
I've got an inside source who says Michigan is really struggling to get it together under Rich Rodriguez. But winning on the road is still a pretty tough task for Utah. I guess I'll pick the Utes to win but I won't say they "should" win.
