Daily Herald Sports Editor and BYU football beat writer Darnell Dickson picks today's Mountain West Conference games.
NO. 14 UTAH (6-0, 2-0) AT WYOMING (2-4, 0-3), NOON MT (THE MTN.)
This game would be a lot more interesting if the Cowboys were any good this year; they are not. Still, the home crowd is likely to get rowdy over the onside kick Utah pulled last year up 43-0. The Utes would do well to jump out early and let the crowd clear out.
• Darnell sez: Utah 38, Wyoming 10
TCU (5-1, 2-0) AT COLORADO STATE (3-2, 1-0), 1:30 P.M. MT (CBS-C)
Good work by Steve Fairchild and his staff to get the Rams on the winning side of the ledger. A strong running game will be tested against TCU's great rush defense.
• Darnell sez: TCU 27, Colorado State 21
NEW MEXICO (3-3, 1-1) AT NO. 9 BYU (5-0, 1-0), 4 P.M. MT (THE MTN.)
BYU has been great at home for going on three years and Bronco Mendenhall is 3-0 against his old school. The Cougars should be focused now that MWC play is all that's left in the regular season.
• Darnell sez: BYU 37, New Mexico 14
AIR FORCE (3-2, 1-1) AT SAN DIEGO STATE (1-4, 0-1), 7:30 P.M. MT (THE MTN.)
The Aztecs can be in the game if quarterback Ryan Lindsley is healthy. If not, this game should be all Falcons.
• Darnell sez: Air Force 24, San Diego State 13
